I read this title for the Romance week of my Adult Pop Lit class, and I found it has many parallels to Fifty Shades of Grey. While I found the writing better than Fifty Shades of Grey (and without the excruciating inner dialogue), there were problematic instances of possessiveness and male dominance. The ending was a bit abrupt, but it's also a series so the story does continue. This book does discuss abuse and its psychological effects, and I found this a compelling component in comparison to F

I don't even know where to start with a review for this book. Move over Christian Grey, 'cause I'm totally smitten with Gideon Cross. Holy cow.
This story was amazing. Total chick-lit crack. Good grief. And the sudden ending? TOTES NOT COOL. Is it October yet? I need more.
Brilliant. Engaging. Sexy. Edgy. Angsty. All things I love, all wrapped up in one dysfunctionally appealing package.
I cannot wait for instalment number two!
