what a disappointing ending to what could have been a brilliant series. There were few character arch's that were resolved and sadly the last 1/3 of the book was a mostly a flop - it felt like it was written by a completely different author; no continuity or respect for the rules of the magic system so well developed in the first 4 books; the characters flippantly changed in their personalities and moral standing; there were story lines that went nowhere or didn't reach their full potential; too many newly introduced and under developed concepts for the sake of the narrative or as 'plot twists'; and so many other issues I won't go into because of spoilers. The additional online content "the real ending" (I can't remember the other chapters name) was the nail in the coffin for me, I know it was tongue in cheek but it was so uncomfortable to read and just rubbish. It felt like a slap in the face validating how lacking in integrity the in-book ending was. I do not recommending reading the online 'ending'.
