Colonel Oakland clicked off the intercom at just before nine o’clock in the morning Colorado time. The refueling stop at Andrews Air Force Base outside of Washington had taken longer than expected. As he slowly emerged from his drug-induced hypnotic state throughout the night, Bennett had talked at length with Black about the way he had been treated and why. But oddly enough, even after a few more hours of sleep, he couldn’t seem to muster the anger he wanted to feel.
