They affect to despise the gay and gaudy materials which enter into the composition of what are called Irish flies, without, however, being able to assign any better reason than that " they never tried any such, and are not used to them ;" the real reason, however, no doubt, is the difficulty of procuring any where but in large seaport towns the feathers of tropical and other foreign birds requisite for the purpose. We have now before us two specimens of the Teivi salmon fly, which were tied at Llandyssil, a village about thirteen miles from Cardigan, by one of the most celebrated anglers on that river. A SPRING FLY. Wings, the dark brown mottled feather of the bittern ; body, orange silk or worsted, with broad gold twist, and a smoky dun hackle for legs. SUMMER FLY.
